Ceago Vinegarden Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Ceago Vinegarden, Clear Lake, Kathleen’s Vineyard, Estate Grown, Sauvignon Blanc 2009 In the nose the fruit shows the character of peaches with notes of tropical fruit as well – absolutely vibrant. In the mouth, the fruit is also on full display. There’s a plumpness to this wine, less acidic than many Sauvignon though certainly not flacid – nice and very fresh.

The grapes at Ceago are farmed biodynamically and Kathleen’s Vineyard is the name of the original vineyard planted by Bernard and Kathleen Fetzer over 50 years ago in Mendocino County. To honor Kathleen, her name has also been given to a vineyard nearby in Clear Lake.

Proprietor Jim Fetzer, whose passion for biodynamic farming is not a passing fancy, has a deep commitment to the health of the land. Produced and bottled under Stelvin in Hopland 14% purchased for $13.49 at Bottle Barn Ceago
