Avignonesi Vino Nobile 2006

Avignonesi, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2006 In April, the nose spoke Old World with a bit of funkiness. In the mouth this Vino Nobile shined, concentrated, tannic and possessing electrifying acidity that accentuated the cherry fruit – very nice.

I was so disappointed on a later occasion when we tasted a bottle that was a little corked, hiding true wine.

Coming back to this wine is July, the nose is singing with incense while on the palate it is still a baby – very nice indeed.

The grapes behind this wine are 85% Prugnolo Gentile, 10% Canaiolo Nero and 5 Mammolo. Bottled by Avignonesi in Cortona 13.5% purchased for $21.99 at Bottle Barn Avignonesi
