Acorn Dolcetto 2006

Acorn, Russian River Valley, Alegria Vineyards, Dolcetto 2006 There’s a great complexity of smells working in the nose, including fresh and stewed fruits, green herbs and eucalyptus as well as a sense of oakiness. In the mouth, Bill has worked the tannin into submission on this wine, so that it is a feature in the puzzle of texture rather than the dominant note, as one can find in other Dolcetto. There’s cranberry and cherries and enough acidtity to power this wine a long way down the palate – very nice and definitely beckoning a bit of roast chicken. In addition to the Dolcetto there is 2% Freisa and 2% Barbera. Winegrowers Betsy and Bill Nachbaur. Cellared and bottled in Napa 14.3% $23.99 at Bottle Barn Acorn Winery
