Domaine de Montpezat, Vin de Pays d’Oc, Prestige 2001 The nose is full of sweet, pruny fruit. In the mouth the black fruits are dominant with structure to frame it where the tannins are developed and starting to soften. The grapes are 60% Cabernet and 40% Syrah. David Bruce, Santa Cruz Mountains, Estate Bottled, Pinot Noir 2004 This legendary producer from above Los Gatos has been crafting Pinot from many of the best appellations in the state. Their local bottling has the smell of a cherry pie, a sense of sweetness enveloping the fruit. The mouth has concentrated fresh and stewed fruits with plenty of acidity to frame it.
