Tasty treats in the Russian River

Dutton Estate Every Friday through the end of September and most of October, Cynthia Newcomb at the Dutton Estate is creating a special dish to pair with one of the wines on offer in the tasting room. When I visited recently, she dazzled the guests with a Grilled Chicken Salad with Peaches and Avocado to pair with the 2006 Kyndall’s Reserve Chardonnay.

Salads are often a tough dish to pair with Chardonnay yet this was a winner. By carefully building the dressing and garnishes, she managed to create a dish that echoed the flavors of the wine without overwhelming it.

The winery and tasting room are located just north of Sebastopol on Highway 116 in Sonoma County. A new pairing will be featured each week from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Fridays only. They send you home with a copy of the recipe so you can relive the experience at home. Dutton Estate
