Pomelo Sauvignon 2008

Pomelo, California, Sauvignon Blanc 2008 The nose sports citrus and freshly mown grass. In the mouth you’ll find lemon with a sense of both its juice and pith. The wine is soft, clean and light with a bit of petillance and moderate acidity. Produced and bottled by Mason Cellars in Oakville.

Mason has made delightful Sauvignons that we’ve poured at our events. This sample, given to me just this week, is bottled under Stelvin and just 13% alcohol. The price is $10 per bottle at the winery, positioned as a value-priced alternative to the Mason Napa Sauvignon which is $16 at the winery; you’ll also find the Pomelo for $8.99 at K&L.
