Chalk Hill Chardonnay 2000

Chalk Hill Winery, Chalk Hill, Sonoma County, Estate Bottled, Chardonnay 2000 This is a toasty Chardonnay, with the oakiness enhanced by the nuttiness of time. In the mouth there is the full-on richness and thickness that is the house style yet the acidity is spot-on, adding a green apple sensibility in the midst of the deep bath of butter. This wine has aged beautifully and is a pleasure to drink in ’09. Notice the alcohol level at a mere 13.5%. Grown, Produced & Bottled in Healdsburg 13.5% priceless today and a gift that we enjoyed with dinner from fellow blogger Andy Gamitian.
