Belo Tawny 1996

Belo, Napa Valley, Vintage Tawny Port, Tinta Isabella 1996 The nose is pruny and spirtitous with some volatility. The mouth shows lots of caramel and nuttiness, like crunching up some almonds, wrapping them in milk chocolate and basting them with caramel. It’s appropriately warm with lingering acidity – a very nice Tawny style of Port from Napa. The wine was aged in 130 gallon Portuguese pipes for 8 years. Winemaker Terrence Dewane. Produced and bottled in Napa 18.6% $18 for a 375ml bottle at the winery. Tonight’s bottle is a 750ml donated to the class by the SFCWC Belo Winery
