California Pinot Noir

Storrs, Monterey, Riverview Vineyard, Pinot Noir 2007 The nose features smoky and earthy notes to complement the red fruit. In the mouth the cherry sensation is enlivened by a healthy dose of acidity, making this a great match for roast pork tenderloin and cherry stuffing. Our friend Ken Landis created just such a dish recently and Pinot was a lovely match. Sanford, Sta. Rita Hills, Pinot Noir 2006 Produced and bottled in Lompoc 14.5% The current releases ’08 an ’09 are available for $40 at the winery. This cellar selection was rattling around for some time. from the SFCWC Sanford Winery

Kosta Browne, Sonoma Coast, Pinot Noir 2006 The nose features the scent of brown spices , sweetness of ripe fruit and vanilla too. In the mouth there is an elegant display of cherry fruit and a silky texture – very nice. Created by two of the nicest guys you will meet in the wine business. Produced and bottled in Sebastopol. 14.8% purchased for $100 at Bottle Barn Kosta Browne Wines
