Luna Merlot 2006

Luna, Napa Valley, Merlot 2006 The nose features sweet oaky notes and black fruit. In the mouth the black fruits come through with cherries too. The suppleness of Merlot that most consumers seek is on full display in a light-bodied expression that is immediately drinkable. Unlike many soft and approachable Merlot, however, this wine is not flaccid; it’s streak of acidity gives it liveliness on the palate and the opportunity to pair with roasted chicken – nice.

The wine was aged in French oak for 20 months. Produced and bottled in Napa 14.2% $40 at the winery, a media sample Luna Vineyards
