Innocent Bystander, Victoria, Pinot Gris 2009
In the nose you’ll find a medley of fruits, from pears and peaches to pineapple and kiwi, all sprinkled with flowers of a sweet nature. The mouth delivers the fruit with a creamy texture, a little rich without being cloying. The acidity speaks in the background, adding freshness and driving the length- very nice.
The grapes behind this wine include 9% Viognier, an ever aromatic and able assistant. The wine was matured in older French oak barrels to add complexity rather than overt oakiness.
