Chapoutier Banyuls 2007

M. Chapoutier, Banyuls 2007 There’s lots of pruny complexity in the nose. In the mouth it is spot on, nuttiness and raisins tossed in molasses – yum. There was a touch of TCA in the first bottle tasted, described here but it wasn’t terribly noticeable.

A second bottle tasted in October ’09 was quite delicious after dropping the veil of TCA. In this bottle the fruit really popped making this wine a real star. On the second day it was even better.

This vin doux naturel is composed entirely of Grenache and the wine is matured in oak. Mis a Tain 16% $19.99 for a 500ml at Bottle Barn M. Chapoutier
