St. Joseph Riesling 2003

St. Joseph, Grand River Valley, Riesling 2003 In the nose there are floral notes, apricots and candied lime. The mouth features peaches and apricots in a semi-dry appearance, fresh and delicious. The staying power of this wine is amazing – 6 years on it is as youthful as you can imagine.

We tasted this wine with some curried shrimp, cooked on the barbecue, chilled and served with a freshly made remoulade. The combination was delightful! P&B in Thompson, Ohio 12% $?? at the winery –  I was given this bottle some time ago. Doreen at St. Joseph said that the 2003 is long gone but the current release, the 2007 vintage is available. I’ll be keen to try it soon. St. Joseph Vineyard
