S3x Late Harvest Riesling 2006

S3x, Russian River Valley, Late Harvest, Riesling 2006 Tasted back in early ’08 this wine was a show-stopper. Now in early ’09 the dried apricots are still shining with essence of honey in the nose. What makes this wine so special is the acidity which balances the immense thickness. The numbers on this wine are 47 degrees brix at harvest and residual sugar of 219 grams per litre. Proprietor and winemaker Matt Cline created the name of the winery out of the acronym made by ‘small, sweet sips’.  This was a big winner at the ’08 Chronicle Wine Competition. P&B in Napa 9.9% previously $31.99 at Bottle Barn for a 375ml bottle, down to a mere $15.99 in August ’09 S3x Wines
