Bouchaine Estate Chardonnay 2006

Bouchaine, Napa Valley – Carneros, Estate, Chardonnay 2006 The nose combines freshly split oak, vanilla, toast and stone fruits. The mouth is full-on richness with oak essence and butter layered over peaches and green apples – very nice. The wine received all of the bells and whistles from the winemaker, including battonage  as well as ML for 50% of the wine; 85% was barrel fermented and then aged in a combination of new (30%) and used oak for a further 9 months. Winemaker Michael Richmond. P&B in Napa 13.9% $30 suggested California retail Bouchaine Vineyards
