Martin Codax, Rioja DOC, ERGO, Tempranillo 2006 The Martin Codax brand has developed a solid reputation on in the northwester portion of the country in Galicia. With this wine from the Rioja, the brand is throwing its equity behind Spain’s most recognized wine region. The smell is a pretty combo of cedar and vanilla. The mouth is a supple display of cherry fruit, modern and clean. The grapes were sourced from the Rioja Alta and include a tiny portion of Graciano, less than 1%. The rest is all Tempranillo. The wine was aged in American oak for 10 months. 13.5% $14.99 suggested retail, import sample Martin Codax
