Cantina Terlano, Alto Adige DOC, Pinot Bianco 2007
This wine has been consistently fresh and aromatic and the ’07 is on form. Estate Bottled in Terlano 13% $19.99 at Traverso’s and $15.99 at Bottle Barn  Terlano

McManis Family Vineyards, California, Pinot Grigio 2007 There’s a sense of melons, stone fruits and citrus. It’s like putting an orange in your mouth, with a bit of grapefruit thrown in – plenty of acidity.

The previous vinatage ’06, showed vibrant grapefruit, tropical notes and high acidity. The McManis property is located at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Stanislaus Rivers. P&B in Ripon 12.5% $7.99 at Bottle Barn McManis

Montevina, California, Pinot Grigio 2007 Tremendously floral with a little RS to round off the acidity. P&B in Napa 13.5% $7.99 at Bottle Barn Montevina

Elena Walch, Alto Adige DOC, Pinot Grigio 2007 The ’07 has a little sense of biscuits in the nose with characteristic citrus and a bit of a green character in the mouth that matches up with the acidity. In the mouth the complexity is beginning to develop, with an added texture to enhance the wine that is noticable when we tasted it again in July ’09.
The last vintage of this wine was clean, full of acidity, minerality and fruit. P&B in Termeno 13% $14.49 at Bottle Barn Elena Walch

Lucien Albrecht, Alsace, Pinot Gris, Cuvee Romanus 2007 There’s notes of minerality in the nose, fresh rain on the stones while in the mouth this is the most rounded wine of the flight, with softer acidity, ample fruit and a some palpable residual sugar which adds richness and weight.

The last vintage of this wine tasted was the ’05 where I noted: Lots of floral and stone fruit aromas with tropical elements like banana – rounded and lower acid in the mouth.

Romanus Albrecht was the founder back in 1425. Proprietor and winemaker Jean Albrecht. Bottled in Orschwihr 13% $18.99 at Traverso’s  and $15.49 at Bottle Barn Albrecht
