Sequoia Grove Rutherford Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

The last time I had this wine, an earlier vintage, at the Cabernet Shootout, it was one of my top picks. Let’s see how this bottle of 2001 is showing today. There’s mint and the cigar box, bay leaf and black fruits. The palate has smoothed out and the acidity drives the flavor for a long time. Winemaker Jim Allen. P&B in Rutherford 14.2% $60 for the current release 2004 at the winery. This bottle was from the cellar thus I don’t have the price at hand for the 2001 Sequoia Grove
