Value strikes again in Pinot land

Last night in the UC California class, The Great Wines of Northern California, we sampled a stunning Pinot priced just shy of $15.

Willowbrook, Sonoma County, Pinot Noir 2006
This wine exudes fruit in an elegant way, is framed by acidity and enhanced by an appropriate dash of oak. It was truly the class favorite of the evening. Willowbrook shined at the 2007 Sonoma County Harvest Fair with their pricier Pinots. This bottling shows the same deft hand in a value-priced offereing. Tasted again in September ’08, the nose is evolving while the mouth is still lusciously fruity and supple. P&B in Sebastopol, 14.5% $14.49 at Bottle Barn. Willowbrook
