Paradise Ridge Winery Russian River Valley Ode to Joy Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc 2005
Lots of complexity in this wine, with honey galore. This dessert wine was crafted to honor the memory of Marijke Byck-Hoenselaars. 330 g/l sugar at harvest. Winemaker Dan Barwick. P&B in Santa Rosa. 14.3% $29.95 for a 375ml at Traverso’s.

The Royal Tokaji Company, Tokaji, Aszu, 5 Puttonyos 2003
This winery is certainly one of the stars of the region. During my visit in August of 2007 the wines were outstanding across the board. This one oozes the essence of creme caramel, dried apricots and nuttiness while being balanced by ample acidity. 334 g/l sugar at harvest and 170 g/l residual sugar. P&B in Mad, Hungary. 10% $32.99 at Bottle Barn and $39.99 for a 500ml bottle at Traverso’s. The Royal Tokaji Company
