PG 3 Revisited

Elena Walch Alto Adige Pinot Grigio DOC 2006
Last time tasted this wine was clean, full of acidity and fruit. The stony minerality is in force on this round as well. P&B in Termeno 13% $14.49 at Bottle Barn

McManis Family Vineyards California Pinot Grigio 2006
Last time out this wine showed vibrant grapefruit and high acid. This time the wine is also showing some ripe tropical notes. The McManis property is located at the confluence of the San Joaquin and Stanislaus Rivers. P&B in Ripon 12% $7.99 at Bottle Barn McManis

Domaine Zind Humbrecht Alsace Pinot Gris 2006
My notes on the ’05 state: perfection with richness, a little RS, balancing acidity and plenty of body. The 2006 tonight smells exotic: spices wrapped up with stone fruits and minerality. The stone fruits are there to taste as well, in a rich wine made for Tarte Flambe. Later in August ’08 a sense of the botrytis is emerging which adds to the complexity. Mis par Leonard et Olivier Humbrecht in Turckheim in the Haut-Rhin 14.5% $22.95 at Traverso’s
