Wooping it up in the Republic

Their is ample acidity in both wines in this flight. The WW adds a slight richness whereas the Sauvignon Republic pulls no punches with its intense honoring of Sauvignon’s grassy side.

Woop Woop South Australia Verdelho 2006
Winemaker Ben Riggs. Produced in McLaren Vale 13.5% $10.99 at Bottle Barn Woop Woop

Sauvignon Republic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007
This wine pulls no punches with its intense honoring of Sauvignon’s grassy side and the amplification of bell peppers. We recently tasted this bottling along with the Stellenbosch and the Russian River bottlings in the same flight.  The Stellenbosch was also no slouch in its intensity though certainly less herbaceous. The Russian River was much more discreet and from the 2006 vintage. P&B in Marlborough 13% $11.99 at Bottle Barn Sauvignon Republic
