Sonoma County Harvest Fair Best of Class Pink Wine

Kunde Estate Sonoma Valley Grenache Rose 2006
A clean wine with parfum and strawberries framed by great acidity. We awarded this wine a Gold Medal and it won best of Class of the 10 pink wines tasted. The wine also showed well during the sweepstakes round. Unfortunately pink wines never have a chance to win sweepstakes white or red given their hybrid status. With the gaining popularity of dry pink wine we may see more categories for its judging and separate sweepstakes categories broken out for this most refreshing style of wine. 21% Syrah, 2% Zinfandel and 2% Viognier. The red grapes were cold-soaked overnight and then seperated from the skins, all stainless. Winemaker Tim Bell. GP&B in Kenwood 14.1% $11.99 at Bottle Barn Kunde
