Viansa Reserve Chardonnay 2009

Viansa, Carneros – Sonoma Valley, Reserve, Chardonnay 2009 This is a rich style of Chardonnay, with the smell of apple pie – think of the freshly baked crust sprinkled with brown spices. In the mouth the theme of richness continues with butter and oaky overtones.

A portion of the wine went through malolactic and was aged for 10 months in French oak. Produced and bottled in Sonoma 14.1% – I’m not sure of the price as this bottle was the gift of a friend at the winery.Viansa's view of the wildlife

For those of you who are birders, the winery is perched on a hill overlooking some amazing wetlands where there are lots of birds to see.  Check out the gallery of photos and video here: http://www.viansa.com/WetlandsGallery
