J Vintage Brut 2002

J, Russian River Valley, Sparkling Wine, Vintage Brut 2002 The fresh fruit is there in the nose with plenty of complexity. It’s now 8 years since the fruit was harvested and there are lovely patisserie notes coming through. In the mouth the crisp, acidic character of green apples is delightful and the length is great.

The grapes behind this wine are 49% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot Noir and 2% Pinot Meunier. The wine spent almost 5 years en tireage and the dosage is 15 grams per liter. Produced and bottled in Healdsburg 12.5% purchased at Bottle Barn $71.99 for a magnum
