Domaine de la Butte, Bourgueil, “Le Pied de la Butte” 2008 At first opening this is pretty stinky so give it a good airing and then you’ll find the beautiful fruit. In the mouth it is light-bodied and fruity with lots of acidity and some gripping astringency. Serve with a meal for sure rather than on its own. This is all Cab Franc sourced from the foot of the slope cultivated by Blot. The vines average 30 years in age. Mis en bouteille par Jacky Blot, viticulteur a Bourgueil 12.5% $15.99 at Bottle Barn
