Duca del Frassino Garganega Pinot Grigio 2009

Ducca del Frassino, Venezie IGT, Garganega Pinot Grigio 2009 This is amazingly New World in styling. In the nose the fruit is overt and fresh, reminiscent of banana and other fruits of a tropical persuasion. In the mouth the fresh fruit theme continues, with lowish acidity. The concentration is low but the wine is clean and inexpensive. The suggested retail price is for 3 litres, packed in a box for freshness.

Cantina di SoaveThe grapes behind this wine are 80% Garganega and 20% Pinot Grigio. Produced by the Cantina di Soave in Soave 12% $19.99 suggested retail, a media sample.

I stand by my previous assertion that I would rather drink a clean, light, inexpensive wine anytime over an expensive bottle with subtle flaws that we try to forgive and explain away in order to justify having spent a large sum of money on the purchase – bravo Duca!
