Bodega Celdran Vinto Tinto Reserva 2004

Bodega Celdran, Sonoma County, Vinto Tinto, Reserva 2004

Vino Tinto back labelIn the nose you’ll find read fruits and cedar with a bit of the sweet tobacco of Bordeaux. In the mouth the texture is supple, the fruit is ripe and an Old World sense of leather adds complexity – nice. The wine’s acidity is making my mouth water for the steak on deck. The complexity and suppleness make it ready to drink now, so open that one you have in the rack.

The grapes behind this Spanish blend are 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Zinfandel. I realize that Zinfandel is not a standard offering in Spain but this is a California wine and the winemaker has the prerogative. Proprietor and garagiste winemaker Brian Shapiro. Bottled by Sommer Vineyards in Geyserville 14.5% $32 direct from the proprietor Bodega Celdran
