Pibarnon Bandol 2005

Written by Ray Johnson

Chateau de Pibarnon, Bandol 2005 The nose is quite spicy, borrowing both brown and green entries from the spice rack. In the mouth this wine is quite substantial, big in structure and acidity that drives the flavor for a long time. This is just a baby now – give it at least 8 years in the cellar.

Tasted 6 months later in April 2010, a gamey character has emerged. The Comte attributes this to the Mourvedre, developing with time and adding complexity.

The grapes are mostly Mourvedre. Mis au chateau par Comte de Saint Victor, prop.-recolt. a La Cadiere-d’Azur13.5% $44.99 at Bottle Barn Pibarnon
