Hart’s Desire, Russian River Valley, Ponzo Vineyard, Late Harvest, Zinfandel 2008 The nose features candied black fruit. In the mouth it is a blackberry jam, in a liquid form – with an acidic streak for balance – delicious. 7% RS after 35 degrees brix at harvest Bottled in Geyserville 14.2% $17.99 at Bottle Barn for a 375ml bottle Hart’s Desire

Sapphire Hill, Dry Creek Valley, Amy’s Block, Late Harvest Zinfandel 2008 Sweet stawberries mark the nose of this wine. In the mouth it is light and airy, a dessert wine with freshness and light. Unfined, 35 brix at harvest and 8% RS. P&B in Healdsburg 16.2% $20.99 for a 375 ml bottle at Bottle Barn Sapphirehill

Wellington, Sonoma Valley, Late Harvest, Zinfandel 2008 You smell the jam that you would expect but also that signature of black pepper that often goes with the grape. In the mouth this wine has quite a bit of structure and would benefit a long sleep in the cellar. Owner/Winemaker Peter Wellington. P&B in Glen Ellen 14.5% $21.69 at Bottle Barn Wellington
