Sonoma County Zinfandel

J. Keverson, Russian River Valley, Alton Lane Vineyard, Zinfandel 2007 The fruit is very bright in the nose and graced by a healthy dose of black pepper. In the mouth the fruit is framed by acidity. This is one of the great things about a number of Russian River Zins – acidity adding structure and longevity – very nice. P&B in Geyserville 15.5% $17.99 at Bottle Barn Keverson

Stryker Sonoma, Alexander Valley, “OZ”, Zinfandel 2006 This wine features a very sweet expression of fruit, ripe, enhanced by the vanilla of oak and ever so supple – very nice again. In the mouth it is quite supple – delicious. P&B in Geyserville 15% $19.99 at Bottle Barn Stryker Sonoma

Mayo Family Winery, Russian River Valley, Ricci Vineyard, Reserve, Old Vines, Zinfandel 2007 Raisins add to the fresh blackberry and jammy notes with thickness and richness in the mouth – very nice #3. The grapes are from selected blocks in the Ricci Vineyard. Winemaker Michel Berthoud. P&B in Glen Ellen 15.8% $39.99 at Bottle Barn Mayo
