Guenoc Serpentine Meadow Petite 2000

Guenoc, Guenoc Valley, Serpentine Meadow, Reserve, Petite Sirah 2000 In the nose there is black fruit and toffee, prunes and chocolate. In the mouth the tannins have simmered down while the acidity has remained taut, framing a cranberry-like fruit  – very nice 9 years on. The last bottle that I opened a month ago was also delightful. That night I enjoyed it with a roast leg of lamb which I wish I had on a plate right now. P&B in Middletown 13.5% $40 at the winery for the current 2005 vintage. I don’t know that you would be able to find this cellar selection anywhere today. Guenoc
