San Guido Guidalberto 2006

Tentuta San Guido, Toscana IGT, Guidalberto 2006 Cassis combines with earthiness in the nose. In the mouth it is quite concentrated, with extract to match its structure. I like the way this wine combines the fresh fruit of the New World and the structure that one associates with the great wines of Tuscany. Put this away in the cellar for 6-8 years or serve it with a ribeye if you must drink it now. The grapes behind this second wine at San Guido are 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese. The wine is aged in French and American barriques for 12 months. Bottled in Castagneto Carducci 13.5% $49.95 at Bottle Barn Sassicaia
