Masi Amarone Costasera 2005

Masi, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC, Costasera 2005 Dried fruits spring to mind when you smell this wine, raisins, dried cranberries and a sprinkling of brown spices. In the mouth, the wine is quite elegant, lighting up every part of the palate with flavor, but not overpowering it. The flavor lingers for a long time – very nice.

ValpolicellaWe tasted this again on November 16 and it was drinking beautifully and proved to be a class favorite. The grapes are mostly Corvina, sourced from west-facing slopes in the Classico district. They are semi-dried on traditional bamboo racks for 3-4 months. Produced & Bottled in S. Ambrogio di Valpolicella 15% purchased for $56.99 at Bottle Barn in July ’09 and $51.99 in April 2010 Masi
