D.H. Lescombes, New Mexico, Limited Release, Cabernet Franc 2007 I’ve been fortunate to taste this wine 4 times since the Chronicle Wine Competition judging in January and it really is a star. It puts together the best of Bordeaux and New World styles of Cabernet Franc. There is some leafy, tobacco character woven into the black fruit. The fruitiness repeats in the mouth with a creamy essence and plenty of acidity to make this quite food-friendly. P&B in Deming 15% $38 at the winery D.H. Lescombes
