The white stars

Clarbec, Sonoma County, Pinot Gris 2007 There’s fresh tropical fruit and subtle oak in the nose. The fruit comes through in the mouth with a caress of acidity and a little bit of richness – very nice. The grapes were sourced from the Lila Lane and Clarbec Vineyards. 33% of the wine was fermented in new French oak. P&B in Glen Ellen by B.R. Cohn 13.9% $10.99 at Bottle Barn Clarbec

Valley of the Moon, Sonoma Coast, Chardonnay 2007 The oak stands out in the nose and creates a rich effect in the mouth where the acidity is on the softer side. P&B in Glen Ellen 13.5% $8.99 at Bottle Barn Valley of the Moon

Thumbprint Cellars, Dry Creek Valley, Preston Vineyard, Viognier 2007 Peaches on steriods just jumped out of the glass back in October ’08. Further on in April ’09, the alcohol is starting to get ahead of the fruit, not replacing it but definitely competing for attention. The mouth is full-bodied, still fruity, and lowish in acid. Proprietors & Winemakers Erica and Scott Lindstrom-Dake P&B in Cloverdale 14.7% $22.99 at Bottle Barn
