Singing sweetly in the Loire

Chateau Pierre-Bise, Quarts de Chaume 2004

Honey is the signature smell that jumps out of the glass with caramel and some noticeable but tolerable VA.  When you think of the Sauternes model, it works just fine.  There’s also citrus, like fresh orange and orange peel. The mouthfeel is quite thick, a very viscous wine with moderate acidity – very rich indeed, a sense of drinking caramel. Give this a good 15 minutes to open up and strut its stuff. Chenin is the grape behind the amazing sweet wines of this appellation. Papin-Chevalier viticulteur a Beaulieu-sur-Layon 12% $34.99 at Bottle Barn for a 500ml bottle
