Scintillating Syrah

Bridlewood Central Coast Winner’s Circle Selection “Dusty Trails” Syrah 2004
A few months ago we tasted another of the Winner’s Circle Selection Syrah and it was true to the the house style showing lots of oak essence wound into a dense palate with ripe tannins; it was a class favorite. The Dusty Trails tonight is true to form, very supple as well as oaky. Winemaker David Hopkins. P&B in Santa Ynez 14.6% $30 at the winery, winery sample Bridlewood

Foxen Santa Ynez Valley Williamson-Dore Vineyard 2005

This was a crowd pleaser at a recent event we had in San Francisco as this wine is rich and more rich, smelling and tasting of a berry cobbler on the supple side. P&B in Santa Maria 15.7% $35.99 at Bottle Barn Foxen
