More than Zin up there

Unti has been doing some great work with varieties beyond the mainstream.

Unti Dry Creek Valley Grenache 2006

The 2005 vintage showed the fruit that Grenache can deliver. This vintage features a perfume like baby powder and candied fruit. In the mouth there’s vivacious fruit, a soft feel, a little warmth and the acidity to make this a great food wine – refreshing and fruity. The 2006 is reinforced by 17% Syrah and 6% Mourvedre, all of which is grown biodynamically. Aged in a combination of large casks and 3 year old French barrels, bottled unfined and unfiltered. GP&B in Healdsburg 14.9% $26.99 at Bottle Barn Unti
