I was reminded of the vibrant aromas that I associate with top-notch Prosecco from the Veneto. <a href=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Sparkling-Pinot-Grigio_South-Coast.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[7869]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7872\" title=\"Sparkling-Pinot-Grigio_South Coast\" src=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Sparkling-Pinot-Grigio_South-Coast.jpg\" alt=\"South Coast Sparkling Pinot Grigio\" width=\"100\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>It is quite a fine coincidence to hear winemaker Jon McPherson making the metaphor to Prosecco in his opening remarks during our simultaneous tasting across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>In the mouth the profile is fruity and the sweetness is in the range of an extra dry Champagne, at 22  grams per litre. Produced and bottled in Temecula 12.8% $18 at the winery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>South Coast Winery, South Coast, Wild Horse Peak Mountain Vineyards, Il Temporale 2007 <\/strong>The nose sports a strong sense of freshly split oak and the sweetness of <a href=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Wild-Horse-Peak-Il-Temporale-2007.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[7869]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7877\" title=\"Wild-Horse-Peak-Il Temporale 2007\" src=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Wild-Horse-Peak-Il-Temporale-2007.jpg\" alt=\"South Coast Winery Super Tuscan\" width=\"100\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>a vanilla-scented pastry. In the mouth the wine is all suppleness with vibrant acidity and the taste of fresh cherries, ready to drink without delay.<\/p>\n<p>The grapes behind this Super Tuscan-style blend are 58% Sangiovese, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 10% Merlot.
