Also there was a spicy floral note, like geranium leaves with some grass and a bit of mint. In the mouth I tasted mango, orange with a touch of residual sugar. The palate was round and rich, with many layers of fruit rather with no overt sense of malolcatic or oak.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5192\" title=\"King Estate Winery\" src=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/King-Estate-Winery.jpg\" alt=\"King Estate Winery\" width=\"133\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/King-Estate-Winery.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/King-Estate-Winery-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 133px) 100vw, 133px\" \/>Looking at the technical notes on the current release &#8217;08, the winery does ferment in stainless and then ages the wine in a combo of new and used oak enhancing complexity and richness without smothering the beautiful fruit &#8211; very nice. Produced and bottled in Eugene by <a title=\"King Estate\" href=\"http:\/\/kingestate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">King Etsate Winery<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This 375ml bottle was purchased and enjoyed with lunch at the <a title=\"Monterey Bay Aquarium\" href=\"http:\/\/www.montereybayaquarium.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monterey Bay Aquarium<\/a> on Thanksgiving Day. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-5201\" title=\"Portola Cafe\" src=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/Portola-Cafe2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Portola Cafe\" width=\"105\" height=\"105\" \/>The price on the wine list was $16.<\/p>\n<p>The food was good, not spectacular, but good.
