In the mouth there is the characteristic acidity, a taste of green apples yet enhanced by a lingering creaminess &#8211; quite elegant.<\/p>\n<p>The grapes behind this wine are approximately 50\/50 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir sourced from Grand and Premier Cru villages. The wine is aged en tirage for 6-8 years and the dosage always seems to be a bit more than with other brut wines from Champagne &#8211; yet the acidity always balances it.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Stevenson estimates production at 200,000 cases per vintage produced. NM-250-001 elabore a Epernay and owned by LVMH 12.5% purchased for $143 at Bottle Barn<\/p>\n<p>The price progression has been steep:<\/p>\n<p>1995 purchased for $89.99   at Bottle Barn<\/p>\n<p>1996 purchased for $115.00 at the Wine Club in San Francisco<\/p>\n<p>1998 purchased for$131.00 at Bottle Barn<\/p>\n<p>This is the same wine that was formerly branded &#8216;Moet et Chandon Dom Perignon&#8217; and labeled with the dosage designation of Brut.
