The time in bottle has added some nice complexity to a wine that we often drink before that can develop.<\/p>\n<p>While taking a long weekend in Mendocino, we purchased a bottle of the &#8217;06 at Frankie&#8217;s. I had just finished posting the my notes on the Weil and Magnien from the previous evening, my cup of tea was empty and the time had passed 6:00 p.m. so it seemed right to order a glass of wine. A bottle of the Navarro Pinot Gris was only $24 so it seemed silly to order two glasses, thus I have a little left in the bottle tonight to retaste as I post these notes. P&amp;B in Philo 13.6% $19 at the winery.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2270 alignright\" title=\"frankies-wine-and-beer\" src=\"https:\/\/rjwine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/frankies-wine-and-beer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Visit Frankie&#8217;s when you are in Mendocino &#8211; they have wireless access, delicious pizza made with real fresh herbs and Linda says the ice cream is great for an afternoon treat. <a title=\"Frankie's\" href=\"http:\/\/www.frankiesmendocino.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Frankie&#8217;s<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Navarro, Anderson Valley, Mendocino, Pinot Gris 2007 <\/strong>The freshness of the fruit leaps out of this youthful wine. The floral notes are full-on and intertwined with the tropical and citrus fruit. This wine is quite crisp and refreshing &#8211; delicious.<\/p>\n<p>Tasted about one year later, on April 23, 2010, this wine is even better. The edges are rounding off, adding a richer textural element &#8211; very nice.
