Tasting the wines in Burgundy last March, there was a steady theme to the domaine’s taming of the tannins that can hide the beauty that is Pinot in Burgundy. The challenge for this wine in this flight is that it is tough to justify paying 3 times what we would for the Montille, which was absolutely packed with flavor for one-third of the price. Also, on reflection, the alcohol was really starting to show on day 2, signaling that this particular wine just doesn’t have the necessary concentration.
