In the nose there is baking bread, straw and a subtle sense of stone fruits. In the mouth the wine is quite weighty, mineral driven and enhanced by oak in the background. The wine is a touch corked thus there is an added note of astringency in the mouth and some muting of the aromatics in the nose. Fortunately the level of TCA is low enough to see the character of the wine. In the restaurant business we often pointed fans of White Burgundy in the direction of white CDP when they wanted to branch out. <span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;\">The grapes, Clairette 40%, Grenache Blanc 30%, Bourboulenc 15% and Roussanne 15% <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial;\">w<\/span>ere sourced from the Plateau de<span> <\/span>la Crau from vines averaging 30 years old. 40% of the wine was fermented in barriques and some of the wine was also aged in barriques.<span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;\"> Mis par Brunier et fils a Bedarrides, The grapes\u00a0 13.5% $49.95 at Traverso&#8217;s <a title=\"Vieux Telegraphe\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vieuxtelegraphe.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vieux Telegraphe<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, &#8220;La Crau&#8221; 2006 The wine today is Brunier&#8217;s white CDP.
